In Year 1, we immersed ourselves in the joys of literature during World Book Week celebrations. We engaged in a live draw-along session with book author Raahat Kaduji, sparking creativity and inspiration. On Friday, we had a fantastic story session with Margaret Bateson-Hill where she read her story to us and we joined in with all the actions. The highlight of the week was when we dressed up in delightful book character costumes on Friday, truly embodying the essence of storytelling. In homage to Benjamin Zephaniah, we reflected on his impactful work and dedicated time to learning and performing one of his profound poems, ‘People Need People’, during our assembly. It was a week filled with literary delight and meaningful tributes.
