This week in Reception we have been reading the story Elmer. The children enjoyed learning about the patchwork elephant and discussed what made Elmer unique and a good friend. It made us think about how we are all unique and special in different ways and what we can do to be a good friend to others. The children worked together to make giant Elmers, and each painted their own square to create Elmer’s patchwork. The children then wrote their names in their square to show how we are all different, but we are all friends and can work together as a team to create something special.

On Fridays, the children will be bringing home the four new sounds they have learnt in phonics this week. This is for children to show you how they say their new sound, what words their new sound starts with and to practice writing it. These are to be kept at home for reference as your child continues to grow their knowledge of phonics. Thank you for your support.
