In year five, we started reading the book ‘The Journey’ by Francessca Sanna, a beautifully illustrated book depicting the story of a family in a war-torn country. This gripping story has captivated us all and we have engaged in several great discussions about the themes and characters. This week we wrote persuasive letters of advice to the main character, advising her to either remain in the country or flee. We included features such as flattery, cause and effect connectives, repetition and emotive language.
