Yesterday we travelled up to central London on the tube to visit the British Museum. The children were ecstatic to see items from the Sutton Hoo burial which we have been studying in our history lessons and coins from the reign of Emperor Septimius Severus who we researched during Black History Month. Septimius Severus also features in the book we are reading for our English lessons ‘Empires End: A Roman Story’. It was wonderful to be able to go out into London as a year group and to link our classroom learning with real artefacts.
