On Monday, year 5 had an exciting visit from a Roman. The children took part in the workshop for the whole day and were captivated by the experience. The visitor spoke about Roman history and how they came to Britain. The children were then given the chance to hold military items such as swords, helmets and shields as well as items Romans would have used in their day to day lives such as a beeswax writing tablet. The visitor hosted games and answered many questions in detail. He was also very impressed by the children’s knowledge; it was a great opportunity for them to share what they had already learnt in class. This was an all-round fantastic learning experience that we will never forget!
