The children in Year 2 were very excited to be joined by their parents for one of their maths lessons this week. They have been working hard on addition and subtraction and it was time to show their parents their skills in this area.

Today we looked at comparing numbers using ‘=, < or >’. First we had to make a tower of 11 and then break down into different parts. When we did this we showed our parents how to write a number sentence for what we had done. We repeated this process with different numbers. Once we had mastered that we went on to using the symbols ‘=, < or >’ in the number sentence. We think our parents were impressed with our work.

We were proud to show our parents our maths skills and we look forward to inviting them back into our classroom later in the year.
