This week the children in Year 1 went on a trrip to Mountfitchet castle and the house on the hill toy museum. We are starting our history topic all about toys after the half term and the children will be working towards creating their own toy museum in school. To help us understand what a museum is like and what we need to prepare for our museum to be a success we spent the day exploring the museum and the castle.
The children were able to enjoy the wonderful displays and interactive features. We have collected lots of ideas for how to make our museum interesting and are excited to get started next half term. The children thoroughly enjoyed viewing the enormous collection of toys in the house on the hill museum and were surprised to see how some of the toys they love now have changed over time.
All the children behaved brilliantly and were thoroughly worn out by the end of the day.
