In the EAL room we have been investigating the force of friction.  We have estimated how far a car will travel down a tube on three very different surfaces with a varying amount of friction.  We have used new vocabulary including ‘roll, up,down,round,far,furthest,stop,go,flat,push and slide.’ The children have written sentences to describe their findings ‘I like the smooth floor because the car goes further than on the spiky grass.’ ‘I think the car goes further on the smooth floor because it doesn’t have more friction than the grass and the carpet.’
