Year 6 have been learning how to improvise using five notes to a piece of music using the keyboard and piano. Once happy with their improvisations, they were invited to share their creations with the class. Some performed their pieces as a solo and others as a duet.

We hope you enjoy seeing what we came up with on the keyboards below!

This week we will start learning the words and an instrumental part to ‘Something inside so strong’ written by Labi Siffre. This song is about strength and resilience and was written by Labi Siffre for the people of South Africa to be strong during times of great adversity. Not only has this song inspired people to stand up for their own rights and the rights of others, but it also won Labi Siffre the Ivor Novello Award for being the Best Song both musically and lyrically from the British Academy of Songwriters.
