Year 5 students have been gathering vocabulary to be used in their latest writing piece describing a forest. They were given a sensory tray filled with natural treasures to inspire their writing. With keen observation and engaged senses, they explored textures, patterns, and scents found in nature. From the rough bark of twigs to the earthy aroma of leaves, they immersed themselves in the forest’s sensory tapestry, crafting vivid descriptions that brought the magic of the outdoors to life on paper. Through this hands-on approach, our students not only honed their descriptive writing skills but also gained a deeper appreciation for the beauty and wonder of the natural world.
