This week as part of our work on the story ‘The Robot and the Bluebird’, Year 1 have been finding out about how to create bird feeders to help take care of the bird. At this point in the story the robot is caring for the bluebird and helping her travel to a warmer place where she can be safe. The children spent some time creating bird feeders and thinking carefully about the resources and instructions needed. After making the feeders, the children then wrote down some clear instructions to give to the robot to help him create his own bird feeder for the bluebird.
