This week in Year 1, we have been focusing on celebrating Autism Awareness Week. We have been engaged in activities to increase our understanding of Autism, such as learning about how people’s brains work differently.

On Tuesday, we were privileged to host representatives from the Sycamore Trust who delivered a fascinating assembly on Autism and the invaluable support the charity offers to families in our community. As part of our celebrations, each of us created a puzzle piece to symbolise our unique differences, which were proudly displayed on our classroom doors.

To conclude our week-long celebration, we embraced our individuality by participating in a ‘Dare to be Different’ dressing up day on Friday. Eveyone delighted in showcasing their uniqueness through their fabulous choice of outfits.
