In Year 5, we are reading ‘Street Child,’ a book by Berlie Doherty. Life is very tough for Jim at the moment and he has been sent to the ghastly, notorious workhouse. Jim is thinking of escaping but, it’s not as easy as it sounds. If he is caught, he would be brought back and whipped daily for the rest of his life. Should he escape or should he stay put?
