On the 21st of March Reception Year had a trip to Colchester Zoo. We had an early start and the  Monteagle staff, parents and children boarded the coaches  at 8:30 and set off to the zoo. Each class spent time viewing a wide range of different animals that were within spacious enclosures including spending time observing the feeding of the elephants and giraffes in the Kingdom of the Wild. The children also took part in a ‘Dear Zoo’ activity session which was related to our text called ‘Dear Zoo’.  The children were excited to learn about animal habitats, their eating habits, how they find their food and the type of food they eat and their unique animal characteristics. After a busy day at the zoo, tired but happy children and parents chatted about what they found interesting during their visit while relaxing on the coach back to school.

Thank you to all our parent helpers for volunteering to support us on our trip.
