This week we have been celebrating the Queen’s up and coming Platinum Jubilee. Year five have been leaning about the Commonwealth and the Queen’s important role within it. Today we were lucky enough to be visited by members of Her Majesties House Hold Cavalry who will be playing a crucial role next week during the Jubilee celebrations outside Buckingham Palace. CoH Semakula and Tpr Hassan gave us an inspiring insight to their role as a Queen’s Lifeguard and we were all in complete awe and admiration at their accomplishments. Both soldiers have personal connections with the Commonwealth so it was a treat to learn their stories. They then joined us for our ‘street party’ style lunch where lots of sandwiches and cakes were enjoyed! It was an absolute pleasure to host them and we look forward to having them back soon.
