Last week the children took part in a workshop run by the Thames Explorer Trust. The workshop covered key geographical features, the water cycle and environmental issues. The activities included a role play using the River of Life floor game which involved creating a natural river habitat to gain an understanding of food chains and adaptations. Pupils looked at how the river environment has changed over time as well as how pollution and other human impacts can pose a danger to living things. They explored environmental issues and found ‘pollution solutions’ to help devise a sustainable future for the Thames. This was the perfect exit point for our Raging Rivers topic and thoroughly enjoyed by all who took part.
