In Nursery we provide many opportunities for children to engage in meaningful social play situations. It is a vital part of learning and helps develop good positive relationships between adults and children as well as between children themselves. We teach the importance of listening to each other’s ideas, turn taking, sharing resources, using your imagination and using language to communicate thoughts and feelings. Providing good quality play also helps children engage and support each other to think of different approaches to overcome a challenge and helps them realise how to learn from each other.
