This week the children have been reading more on the story ‘Sharing a Shell’ in their writing activities. They have tried to make the story and activities as sensory based as possible, but using trays filled with water and sand, including animals that can be found in the ocean.

The children love getting their hands dirty in sensory trays like these, and they are linked to their lessons so it is even more beneficial for them and engaging!

Other children have been participating in sensory circuits. These are circuits that are meant to engage the children in outdoor activities, where movements are used to keep the children moving. The children jump, slide, roll and pick up items to engage in the sensory circuits. They are fairly new to the ARP that we have only just started with the children, but we will be looking to do more of them next year.

Take a look at the pictures below of these fun activities.
