This week nursery have been reading ‘Rosie’s Walk’ and taking part in many activities related to the lovely book. We have set up a small world area of the yard Rosie walks through, so the children can physically experience the journey of Rosie the hen. This allowed children to get a better understanding of the story and the positional language e.g. across, under, through and over, we wanted children to use as they were describing how Rosie’s travelled through the yard. The children thoroughly enjoyed the small world set up and have really understood the new vocabulary we aimed to teach them.
