A few years ago, before Covid began, the ARP went swimming weekly and the children loved it. Unfortunately, due to Covid, we had to stop going. But this year, we have been able to book a slot for our children every Monday to go swimming, which we are extremely excited about!

And today was our first trip to the swimming pool in years! The children were extremely excited and were talking about swimming the second they arrived at school this morning. at 9:45, the children lined up and started to make their way to the coach outside. We hopped on and took a short journey to Barking Abbey Sports centre. We wandered into the sports centre and was taken round to the swimming changing rooms. The children were so well behaved and listened to the adults every step. When we arrived at the swimming pool, the children jumped straight in with excitement! The swimming teachers were in the pool waiting for them.

The children had 45 minutes of swimming, jumping, playing with their friends and just having a great time. We had two children who were taken to the larger swimming pool as they were very good swimmers. They were taught by a member of the swimming team in a smaller area and they did amazingly well. They were brought back to the rest of the group to enjoy playing in the pool with them toward the end.

The children had a fantastic time! They cannot wait to go again next week. Here are some pictures of the children in the pool.
