This week the children in Year 2 have shown us what magnificent mathematicians they are. They have been working hard on counting numbers to 100 and have been challenged to count to numbers to 1000. They have been building on this skill by looking at each digit in a number and can recall what the value of each digit is and where the digit sits in relation to place value.
They used place charts value charts, counters and dienes to show their understanding of this. The children were enthusiastic during their maths lessons this week and have made an excellent start to their Year 2 maths learning.
