On Tuesday, Year 6 had a visit from the energetic and enthusiastic poet Kimba Bush. It was a fantastic workshop that had the children engaged from the beginning and it was interesting to learn that Kimba’s love of poetry stemmed from listening to rap in his late teens. We had the opportunity to work in pairs to write some of our own poetry using the clever acronym SHAMPOO (similies, hyperbole, alliteration, metaphor, personification, onomatopoeia, oxymoron) which Kimba uses in his poetry.
