The children had a busy week exploring, learning, building and using their imagination to explore our new topic Let’s Grow and to develop a deeper knowledge of number.

Outside in the garden we explored the effect of ice on our natural environment and how the weather impacts the state of the ice from freezing to melted. The children also use materials to build shelter for the snails that were in the garden.

During math’s lessons children worked with a number track, puppets and small world figures to see who could win a race. They flipped a counter or rolled a dice to work out if their figure had to move 1 or 2 more spaces thanĀ  number it was currently on. We then said aloud what 1 or 2 more of a specific number is.

As always the children worked hard and even with the soaring temperature’s managed to make us proud.
