As you will already be aware, we have been advised to close our school due to the ongoing situation with Coronavirus. This is a highly unusual and ever-changing situation and we want to be able to accommodate all of our children to the very best of our ability. As always, they continue to be our number one priority. At Monteagle, we have taken measures to ensure that the children are still able to access work from home. This post will provide guidance and support on how you can access your child’s work and how you are able to communicate with the class teacher.

Work for each year group will be uploaded under our Year Group pages on our school website each Friday. All tasks will be listed on an overview sheet with learning intentions and tasks. These can be found by clicking here: Nursery, Reception, Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, Year 4, Year 5, Year 6, Phoenix

Any learning that is highlighted in red needs to be sent via a designated email address below or via Purple Mash (Years 5/6). Nursery and Reception, continue to upload in the usual way through Tapestry. This will allow teachers to be able to feedback on English and maths work to the children once a week. Please also send anything you are particularly proud of as we can display this for everyone!

You may upload work in any way, for example, taking a photograph of the work and attaching it, typing and sending it via email or, if you have the facilities to, scanning and sending via email.

We are encouraging our older children to talk with each other and their class teachers through their Purple Mash Blogs (more information to follow).

However, if you have any questions or queries about anything during the week please only use the email addresses provided.

Our specialist teachers will also be providing Art, Music and PE work weekly.

If you send an email to these addresses please using the following heading:   class, child’s first name and surname. For example:

5F John Jones

What else will help to support learning:

Please ensure that your child reads for at least 15 minutes a day.  Your child will have a ‘Bug Club’ log in that will give them access to books. If your child is in year 2 -6, please ensure that they use Times Table Rock Stars daily, again your child should already have a log in for this.  If you haven’t received logins already, we will send it via ParentMail.

KS1 children, please make sure you practise your phonic sounds for 20 mins a day. These key skills are vital for children and their progress.

You can also find our 50 things to do before 11 ¾ on our website and on the home learning front sheet. There are lots of interesting activities that you can do as a family at home and the children can track and send us what they have been doing.

Other Information:

We will continue to post assemblies for the children and a weekly achievement assembly where we are able to share examples of the fantastic work children are producing. It will also help to provide a continual sense of community.

We will be contacting all parents who are entitled to Free School Meals in due course to help support wherever and however we can (this does not include KS1 children on Universal Meals)

We will of course be keeping in touch with you regularly.

We are in very uncertain times and more than anything it is important that you and your families stay well and safe.

Our thoughts and best wishes are with you all.

We hope to be able to see you all soon.
