‘Floodland’ comes to life through the Power of Reading

Year 6 children have been reading Floodland by Marcus Sedgwick in their Literacy classes. Through the power of reading, the children have acted out a scene. This scene involved the main character Zoe, being chased by an angry mob. The children then wrote a diary entry in role as if they were Zoe.

Here is a sample of one of the diary entries:

My escape to leave Norwich has been severely delayed due to a vicious mob that wanted only one thing: my boat. Petrifying images of arms reaching and clawing at me still penetrate my mind.
