We have started this term with a bang… and a brand new text to read in our English writing lessons. The new book is ‘Floodland’ by Marcus Sedgwick. This tale is set in East Anglia,  Norwich. The story is in a future flooded Britain and  after only one chapter the children are showing a real excitement and interest as to which direction the story is going in next.

In one of our first sessions back together, the children were tasked with role-playing a scene, whereby Zoe the main character, has run away from a chasing mob to escape the mainland and take to the sea in her rowboat called Lyca.

Here are some ‘freeze-frame’ pictures from those sessions.
