This week we have continued to read ‘Stanley’s Stick’ We created a small fire to help the children understand what a camp fire looked like and how the sticks change as we add heat. The children loved the experience and were able make observational drawing as the fire was lit, talking about what they could see, hear and smell.

The next day we used charcoal produced  by the fire to create our own pictures. We made pictures  of ourselves, homes and even reliving a visit to the park with our family.
