This week, we have been focusing on the ways in which we start our English and Maths lessons and have been making them more engaging and captivating for our children.

The staff have been reading the story, ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ to their classes, and using props to make the story come to life. Some children have been sitting near the house built by the staff that represents the ‘bear’s house’ in the story. The children have been very engaged with the story, and enjoyed watching the characters come to life.

Some of our other children have been focusing a lot on their maths starters. They have been working in pairs to use dienes to count up to any given total and to find the answer to questions that were linked to questions from the previous lesson. They worked extremely well together and supported one another to find their totals.
