This week nursery have been learning to count to 10 in the correct order and selecting and matching objects to a given number from 1-5. Nursery have also practiced writing some numbers on whiteboards and drawing matching circles for each number.

Can you help your child recognise numbers they see in their environment e.g. door numbers or bus numbers as you are walking outside. You can also support your child to count out spoons to a given number during dinner time or counting the number of socks in the washing basket. Children need to use number language regularly to get a good understanding of what numbers mean and these are good ways to help your child in the early years.

Please share some pictures/videos of your child’s number work on tapestry.
