This week nursery took part in a simple cooking session. They learnt to spread butter on a cracker safely using a plastic butter knife. We spoke about the importance of washing our hands when handling any type of food and holding the butter knife correctly and keeping it at a safe distance from others. We also spoke about the skill of spreading and what butter tastes like on crackers. Children thoroughly enjoyed the session and were eager to eat the crackers they had prepared.
