We are holding a coffee morning on Friday 13th of December 9.15am-10.30am with Hannah Martin from Carers of Barking and Dagenham.

Parents of  children  with additional need can sometimes feel isolated, worried or exhausted by the care that they provide for their child.

At times you can feel you are forever attending hospital appointments and trying to obtain services for your child. Friends and family may not always understand the difficulties you face and it may be difficult to discuss your feelings or concerns.

This is where Carers  family services projects offer can help by providing  information and signposting to services. Support can include:

Access to welfare benefits advice
Information about services available
Access to peer support

The family services are focused on the needs of parents or carers of children with additional needs. This may include carers of children with:

a physical disability
a problem with sight, hearing or speech
learning difficulties
emotional or behavioural problems
serious long term illness

If you are a carer or your child is a young carer please come along to the parent room on the 13th December to see how Carers can help you and your family.
