Benjamin Zephaniah was an inspiring and talented poet who encouraged people to have a voice, protested against social injustices such as racism, discrimination and homelessness. He also advocated for animal rights.

This week, the Year 6 children have been writing a biography based on Benjamin Zephaniah. We first conducted research in order to find out about his life and then wrote down some key points under different subheadings.

We used formal language to write about his life, in chronological order. To make our writing as interesting as possible, we used adverbial phrases and tried to include multi-clause sentences.
