Dear Parents,

I can’t believe we are already into November. The days and week seem to be going by more quickly than I have ever known them too.

The school is buzzing with life and learning and the children are happy and settled in what has now become our new routines and structures. I am incredibly proud of them all.

This week in England Maths Week and across the school from Nursery to Year 6 the children have been completing a wide variety of maths activities. Our key stage 2 children have also been competing in Times Table Rockstar competitions across the school and then with 3000 other schools across the country. Tomorrow, some of our children will go in a final Rockstar battle to see who will be crowned the Monteagle Times Table Champion. We are all looking forward to it! Please go onto the school website to see more of the news posts about Maths Week.

This year, we are committed to becoming a ‘Reading School’ we want our children to love books, reading and be inspired by range of authors, fiction and non fiction texts.  If you have any ‘recommended  reads or your child has a book that they love at home, please email us and let us know or share photographs of the books and you and your child reading. We would love to see them.

I know that the news of a new national lockdown last week has caused some nervousness and anxiety but please rest assured that we open and running as usual. Our school continues to be a fantastic place to be, with a strong sense of community and working together.

I will be writing to you again shortly to update you on our altered arrangements for Christmas !

Until then, keep well and stay safe

Best Wishes
