This week, children in year six learned the art of critiquing. At first the children were given an opportunity to walk around the space and look at the various art works. Then, they stopped at the piece they were most drawn to. After a thorough model on how to critique the children engaged in creative conversations using key vocabulary such as composition, hot and cool colours, background and more.

The children gave positive feedback of things they enjoyed and also offered up areas of improvement to the artist. They were very professional! The artist of the piece was then invited to come up and talk about their watercolour still life.  Check out some of the photos below to see the children work.

Stay tuned for more as next week we begin work on the end of the year show!
