In Nursery we love to take our learning outdoors. We have spent time doing phonics, science, music and maths during the week and have been excited by what we have discovered and learnt. In the water play we experimented with the concept of capacity by filling our beakers and bottles with bubbles and water. The children also explored some science in the water play area by testing various materials to see which one absorbed the most water. We also created sets of objects with the different wild animals. We went on a sound hunt and then found hidden letters and created our names on magnetic boards. We practised turn taking while riding the bikes and scooters around the track and the children also enjoyed finding little quite, shady areas to socialise, chat or read stories. We ended the week by having a music lesson outdoors where we focused on singing songs loudly or softly and performed different actions in time to music.
