Year 1 Home Learning – 22.06.20

The teachers in Year 1 have been so impressed with the learning that has been being done in school and at home this week. Mrs Rashid received lots of great maths work showing how well the children are beginning to learn how to tell the time. We have all enjoyed looking at your creative bird masks.

In writing this week the children will listen to Ms Hughes read the story ‘Wild’ on Monday. They have been provided with follow up activities for this story. The children will use a word mat and sentence starters to retell the story throughout the week.

The children will begin to look at numbers to 100 this week in maths. A good way to warm up for maths each day is to practice counting in 1s from a 2 digit number (ex –  start at 44 and count forwards or backwards). Children should also be encouraged to count in 10s throughout the week. It will be important to use the dienes provided this week for counting in 10s and 1s whilst working through the slides.

In curriculum, the children will continue their learning about animals. This week, the children have been asked to found out about reptiles!

Please keep up to date with Class Dojo and Mrs Rashid will be sending out daily updates.
