Once again, all the teachers in Year 1 were so impressed with all of the work sent to us last week. Ms Hughes has been particularly impressed with the beautiful handwriting that the children have been displaying across all of their work. Keep it up Year 1!

Writing and Curriculum resources are found below.
This week for Writing, the children have been asked to find out about Winston Churchill by reading a fact file. They will then use these facts to answer questions about the politician. With this new knowledge, we hope to inspire curiosity in the children so would like them to write questions about what further information they would like to find out. The children have been provided with a link to a safe search engine to find the answers to these questions.
In Maths we are beginning to look at multiplication using concrete resources. Counters will be a great resource to use this week. The children will use the resources to create arrays and will present the task in groups and addition number sentences.
Next week, the whole country will be celebrating VE day. The children have been asked to find out more about VE day and to begin preparing for a VE day celebration. We would love to see how you will be celebrating at home!
It has been great to see so many children logging into TT Rockstars and Bug Club. Please be sure to use these valuable resources during remote learning.
