Welcome back to your Summer term remote learning. The teachers in Year 1 were so proud of the integrity and determination that you all showed last term when adapting to this new way of learning. We are sure that this will continue throughout the Summer term.

In writing this week, you will be hearing a story that has a very surprising ending – ‘The Tadpole’s Promise’. As always, you will have some comprehension questions to answer to check what you know about the story. You are then going to plan and write your own surprising ending to the story. On the home learning sheet, you have been provided with a planning sheet with questions and sentence starters to help you write your new ending. You can also use your phonics sheets and high frequency word sheets to help with your spellings. Don’t forget, Ms Hughes, Mrs Rashid and Mr Sreetharan love when you send use videos of you reading your work!
In maths, you have been provided with a powerpoint with daily activities focusing on division. Before starting your learning each day, practice counting forwards and backwards in 1s, 2s, 5s and 10s. When working through the daily activities, use counters or concrete objects to practice sharing into groups. You can draw large circles to use for grouping.
For your curriculum learning this week, you will find out more about different animals. You have the opportunity to visit your local area to try to spot some tadpoles and frogs! (If you have a chance to visit The Chase, there are lots of tadpoles in the pond at the moment).
As always, remember to use Bug Club for your reading and TT Rockstars for additional maths work. The teachers will update Class Dojo daily with extra activities.
