Home Learning w/b 4th May 2020

All the teachers in year 2 would like to thank you all for both staying safe and supporting your child with the work we are asking you to complete.

This week we are about to celebrate and commemorate VE day. Each of the English and curriculum tasks will allow the children to learn about the event and why we remember the importance of this in history.

For this week we need your child to complete the curriculum activities first. This will give them an opportunity to learn what the event is and why we are about to celebrate.

This will lead into the English activities, here we would like the children to look at an image of a street party in Dagenham. The children have been asked to answer the questions and write a diary entry as if they were present at the VE day party.  After we would like them to design an invitation for a street party on your street. Remember we are in lockdown therefore will need to include some social distancing rules to keep you and your neighbours safe; include them. Finally complete the reading comprehension sheet about VE day.

In maths this week, we would like the children to continue to read information on the graphs. They will then be asked to answer the questions.

Please remember to also login to your Bug Club and Timetable Rockstars to help with both your reading and times tables.

We look forward to seeing some of your fabulous work and smiling faces.

Remember all the tasks in red are to be sent to your teacher so they can give you help for the future.

Keep smiling and take care,

All the best,

Year 2 teachers.
